Rhondda Netball’s First EVER large scale event (the RCT Finals Day) was a resounding success and the sense of community was incredible!
1,317 players, parents, coaches and members of the Rhondda community showed up to show their support towards Rhondda Netball and the players involved.
“It was unbelievable,” said Jody, Operations Manager. “The community support was awesome and seeing so many parents not only attending to cheer on their daughters, but also to help us staff the event was fab. We couldn’t do it without the support from everyone, and the fact that we pulled this kind of day off was nothing short of a miracle. This is just the start point for us, we plan on doing these events more throughout each season to bring the community together and to make female sport and netball a much bigger deal throughout Rhondda and RCT.”
Rhondda Netball’s RCT Finals Day was a fabulous day for all the family! From Sumo Suits, Bouncy Castles, Inflatables, Face Painting, Game, Competitions and PLENTY of netball being played throughout the day, it truly was a showcase of togetherness and FUN!
“We already can’t wait for the next one in May! The feedback has been incredible and we aim to try and make sure that family and community are always at the centre of our plans and developments. The RCT Finals Day is a great way of bringing people together, not only that, but an incredible visual for the growth and progress at Rhondda Netball.”
Rhondda Netball are already the largest female sports participation initiatives in Wales and that hasn’t come easily. The staff, coaches and volunteers at the charity work incredibly hard to ensure that females have the opportunity to take part in something they love and are dedicated to making a difference to female sport!
“We want to thank our incredible main sponsors Leekes for allowing us to continue making a difference in our community”, said Jody. “Another thank you goes to our RCT Schools League sponsors, Devonalds Solicitors who contribute to our schools work which was the game highlight of the event, the RCT Schools Netball Championship Final between Tonypandy Community College and Pontypridd High School. We have to thank the incredible parents that helped us run the day too, it wouldn’t have been possible without them!!”
Rhondda Netball’s next RCT Finals Day is on May 12th and would LOVE you to be a part of the day!
